Hey guys! Check out this fab fundraising event organised by friends Esewi and Daniel! This is a great example of how determination and organisation can really pay off. Have a read folks…

When our outdoors pursuit leader at our school gathered us in an assembly and told us about the expedition for the first time. We were amazed by how breathtaking the trip sounded. It seemed as a huge sum to raise, but we were determined.

We ran a sweets stall at our Schools Christmas festival where we raised £110 which we invested into buying more sweets and crisps we could sell at our disco and an ongoing school tuck-shop we had been running.

We raised approximately £280.17 from the disco, where £250 was profit. I cannot take credit for the idea as it was my housemaster that thought about it. The planning phase of the disco involved many ‘attempts of’ meetings with the head of the prep-school (as our schedules did not fit very well and him being a busy man).

However, once we had passed that hurdle, we went into the preparation phase. Securing lights, sound systems and teachers present to help supervise the event. I can say that without all my many friends’ help, Daniel’s Mum’s help, the help of teachers who volunteered and even the groundsman we would not had been able to make the party as exciting and fun for the children. They LOVED it and can’t wait for the next disco.

As mentioned earlier we have been running festival stalls, and an ongoing weekly tuck-shop in the school. However, recently there has been a scheduling conflict which I aim to fix.

Our next big event will hopefully be in June, which will be an arts concert for as many people as possible at our school. So for me it’s time to pull some strings and cash in on some old favours.

Awesome work boys – Well done.
