In 2011, with the help of an inspirational travel nurse, we joined forces and launched our Healthcare Outreach Programme in Kenya. During the past 5 years, over 175 volunteers have travelled to Kenya, volunteering 2 weeks of their time each year to deliver essential medical care and treatments to over 27,000 people.
Our volunteers run free community clinics, offering treatments, medication and testing for a whole range of conditions. Their patients walk miles and have often suffered for months, or sometimes years, without being able to access the medical care they need.
The amazing teams of doctors, nurses and support staff deliver advice on nutrition, sexual health and hygiene, malaria testing, anti-jiggers treatments, deworming, skin infections, eye and ear infections and conditions, first aid training, tooth extraction and much more.
The support we are receiving from the medical communities around the world is immense and we are exceptionally grateful for every volunteer who joins the healthcare outreach team. We have had so much support that we have filled our November 2017 departure and excitedly launched a second departure for March 2018. This will be the first year we will be able to offer more than one departure, enabling us to deliver even more care to these rural and vulnerable communities.
Our overall aim is to reach as many people as possible, delivering medical treatments to those communities and individuals who otherwise, wouldn’t be able to access medical care.
Ideally we would love to have a mixture of all of the following professions: A&E nurses, General Practice Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants, Midwives, Dermatologists, Dentists and Dental Assistants, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists and Doctors from a whole range of backgrounds and specialisms.
In addition, we are looking for a number of support staff, who don’t necessarily need to have formal medical training, to support our nursing teams with managing the patients, collecting and recording data and assisting with a whole range of duties to ensure the smooth running of these amazing clinics.
If you are thinking this is something you, or someone you know would love to get involved in, please read the full details by clicking here.
Alternatively, if you’d like to support us by donating towards the medical supplies which we desperately need you can donate to the trip through our 100% giving charity, the Camps Foundation. We promise that every penny you donate will be used towards buying the medical equipment and supplies required for the volunteers.

Thank you to every one of our volunteers, past, present and future – your time, skills, expertise and support is helping to change the lives of so many people.
