Camp Cambodia 1 Month

Web

Mystical temples, untouched jungles, tantalising street food and the kindest of people, Cambodia is a vibrant cultural melting pot. During your month you’ll experience life in peaceful Camp Beng Mealea, on the edge of lush green paddy fields and at Camp Beng Pae, nestled in a forest wildlife reserve. Work on projects at the local schools, constructing classrooms or working on the teachers accommodation block.  Make a measurable difference to the education of the local children, they are the bright future of Cambodia. Get your hands muddy working on our re-forestation projects to replenish the forest but also to provide the community with alternative income sources and crops of their own.

Enjoy exploring the world famous and simply mind blowing temples of Angkor Wat. Soak up the culture at the local circus (no animals involved) to support young people and test out your bartering skills in the bustling night markets. Relax and unwind on Siem Reap’s famous ‘pub street’. Sample delicious local delicacies and even fried tarantula if you’re brave enough! Learning about Cambodia’s tragic past through visiting S21 prison and the killing fields, is a truly sobering experience.  You will make a measurable impact on the communities that you’ll live and work alongside and they in return will have a place in your heart long after you leave Asia.

The impact you will make

01

Habitat Restoration & Sustainable Housing (Beng Pae)

Cambodia was once rich in wildlife but due to deforestation and hunting, the ecosystem is in real danger. You’ll play an important role in helping to reforest damaged parts of this landscape to encourage some of the world’s most endangered wildlife to return. You’ll also help us build homes for needy families in the village.
