Camp Peru Colca 1 Month

Web

Experience the Peruvian way of life in the stunning Andes mountains.  You’ll stay in two of our camps during your month in Peru, both rural and rustic, with jaw-dropping views. Many people live below the poverty line in the rural highlands, so you’ll work on improving primary school and community facilities. Build greenhouses, plant seeds and saplings, and carry out workshops on healthy eating for the local children. Trek to Cruz del Condor to take in the unbelievable scenery and spot the world’s largest flying bird, the condor, soaring above you. The vibrant bustling cities of Cusco and Arequipa are yours to explore. A visit to the markets to pick up some Peruvian handicrafts is a must, as is sampling some traditional Pisco Sours. You will make a measurable impact on the communities you meet in Peru, their warmth and cultural heritage will stay with you long after you return home.

The impact you will make

01

Schools Improvement (Colca)

The community of Pinchollo sits on the edge of the mighty Colca Canyon at 3,600 metres above sea level. Due to its remoteness and relatively harsh environmental conditions, the community here is very poor. You’ll help by continuing many varied projects to improve the lives of this charming community.

School Feeding Project (Moray)

The community of Kajilarakay is extremely poor with no basic sanitation or sewerage and a lack of adequate drinking water. There is also a shortage of crops leading to malnutrition.
