A Mini Trip with Camps International
Throughout the year Camps International run Mini Trip to some of the most outstanding East African locations. Our Mini Trips generally run from 7 to 14 days and offer a secure and challenging platform for young people to develop both outdoor and social skills, as well as learning about themselves and the world around them. These short expeditions are designed to provide the maximum amount of challenge, inspiration & fun in a proven and safe environment.
Why go on a Camps Expedition?
We can’t offer you the world; instead we pride ourselves on our intimate knowledge of East Africa, developed through many years of operational experience, which we are able to hand down to you. As one of the few companies who own and run their ground operations in East Africa, we are able to deliver exactly what we promise every time. Camps International runs its own African team, now numbering over 100 staff, supported with vehicles, medical assistance as well as a definitive safety policy and record to British Standard BS 8848.

What will I do?
Each Mini Trip is built around our award winning community and wildlife projects. Challenges, ranging from learning about other cultures and communities and educational wildlife workshops are the key focus of the expedition. We also make sure there is some time to have fun by incorporating some of the best game viewing in the world on Safari through East Africa’s National Parks.

Borneo Mini Trip
Based from two very different locations in the Malaysian state of Sabah in northern Borneo, this trip takes in traditional communities, rugged terrain and environmentally sensitive areas. Borneo provide an excellent backdrop to this trip, enabling visitors to experience life in rural communities and the people’s warmness and generosity. Students will learn about the problems the environment and these communities face on a daily basis, human-wildlife conflicts and efforts to preserve these precious areas.
North Vietnam Mini Trip
This tour offers students the opportunity to explore Northern Vietnam and gain a deeper appreciation of the cultures and traditions of this region by embarking on a challenging trek through beautiful wilderness areas and experiencing life in rural communities. Throughout the trek, students will learn many outdoor and teambuilding skills. The tour ends with an exploratory visit to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World heritage site.
South Vietnam Mini Trip
This tour offers students a unique insight into the cultural melting pot that is South Vietnam, as well as giving students the opportunity to take on the personal challenge of exploring the area by bicycle. This unique activity promotes team building and cooperation.
Cambodia Mini Trip
This trip offers students the opportunity to explore Cambodia and gain a deeper appreciation of the history, culture, and traditions by working alongside the local community. Students will learn about the problems these communities face on a daily basis as well as giving them the opportunity to make a meaningful and significant positive contribution to the people they meet.
Kenya Mini Trip
Based from Camp Kenya’s Wildlife Discovery Camp in the Tsavo Region, this trip provides students with a wide range of community and wildlife activities. Camp Tsavo is located on an 80,000-acre sanctuary packed with wildlife and home to several indigenous rural communities. The sanctuary sits between the National Parks of Tsavo East and West that combined make the largest National Park area in Kenya and one of the biggest in the world. This itinerary provides a unique, educational bush experience for young people.
Tanzania Mini Trip
Camp Tanzania gives students the opportunity to interact with indigenous communities and wildlife. Starting in the foothills of Kilimanjaro the main camp is located in Moshi. This tour provides students with first hand experience of Tanzanian culture through participation in our award-winning projects within local communities. The team then drive to our mountain camp where they will participate in environmental workshops and learn about local conservation and community school development. Game drives in Arusha National Park are included before returning to Moshi for a final farewell party.
