Have you studied law, or perhaps newly into practicing law?

Maybe you’re currently working as a lawyer and looking for an opportunity to support people in a rural community who struggle to get their voices heard or their rights protected?

Camps International run internships in Borneo, partnering with a local organisation PACOS to support their programme of protecting the local people and give them legal support and advice.

Intro to internships

Internships with Camps International provide the perfect opportunity to work alongside some of the most forward thinking and exciting organisations that are directly tackling some of the major challenges facing our environment.

Every one of our internships includes a minimum of 2 weeks working alongside one of these innovative organisations followed by 2 weeks working with our Camps staff and other volunteers on life-changing projects.

Sharing your knowledge and expertise

If you have legal training or a legal background and want to make a significant difference, our internship programme would give you the perfect combination of experiencing Borneo and helping people.

You’ll spend between 2 and 4 weeks shadowing the team at PACOS, sharing your expertise by providing legal advice, support, pro-bono work and training to help the team achieve even more.

Explore Borneo

After your placement, you’ll then spend 2 weeks in our camp on the breath-taking Mantanani Island. Here you will immerse yourself in island life, living alongside the locals and getting involved in a number of life-changing projects.

The projects you could be involved with could include improving a school infrastructure or marine conservation and raising awareness of environmental issues.

You’ll get the chance to explore this stunning island, meeting some of the friendliest people and even the chance to see a turtle or two.

Making a real impact

Internships are part of the core programme at Camps, delivering international volunteering trips with major impact on rural communities in some of the poorest countries around the world.

Whether you travel with us for 4 or 6 weeks, the impact you will make will be significant to these communities, now and for long into the future.

Every project we start, we finish. Therefore, regardless as to when you travel with us, whether you are there at the start, middle or end of a project, you can be assured that the project will be completed.
