There has never been a better time to make a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in Africa, Asia and South America. You may be looking for the opportunity to escape for a few weeks, to learn more about you and how you fit into the wider world, to explore how your skills can help to transform lives and futures.

Since we launched in 2002, over 25,000 volunteers have travelled with us – each one growing in confidence, living alongside the communities they have been supporting, undertaking project work which they could never imagine doing at home and making a real and lasting impact.

To date our incredible volunteers have completed over 90,000 weeks of volunteering, helping to change the lives of over 105,000 people.

Since 2010, we’ve built and renovated 50 houses across the world for the most vulnerable families – replacing cramped and unsafe huts with houses which are built with local materials. We work in partnership with the leaders of local communities who help to identify those most at need, this could be whole families or individuals who are elderly and particularly vulnerable.

Our water procurement, conservation and storage projects have provided water for thousands of families worldwide. We estimate that we have helped to provide fresh clean drinking water to more than 30,000 people worldwide. Water is essential for every person and it’s scary to think that in the countries in which we work, so many people don’t have access to clean drinking water.

We work with local communities to provide lasting solutions to food shortages and encourage self-sufficiency – building greenhouses, cattle sheds and helping to install efficient and safe stoves to enable families to cook.

In addition we’ve helped to feed 8,000 children and every year provide funding for 800 students at a primary school in Kenya to ensure they all get one hot, nutritious meal a day – for most, this is their only meal of the day.

To improve healthcare and sanitation, we’ve built more than 135 toilets and our healthcare programme has treated almost 30,000 people in need through our healthcare and hospital outreach trips.

Education and school improvement programmes are a long-standing commitment for our teams at Camps International. More than 25,000 children have benefited from us building classrooms, schools, teaching facilities, libraries, nursery schools, playgrounds and much more, giving them greater access to a quality education and enabling thousands more children every year to get the opportunity to go to school and learn.

Our conservation projects have helped protect 100,000 hectares of wilderness in 6 of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. We are working to protect the natural environment and have planted over 1 million trees since 2003, with thousands more being planted this summer by our incredible volunteers.

So if you’re considering how you can have a massive impact on the world, come and join one of our trips with impact, working on life-changing projects in rural communities. Whether you travel for 2 weeks or 3 months, the projects you are working on will have a lasting impact.
