Lucas and Josh are brothers – fundraising for the same expedition – in the same house. This is a challenge that they have taken on whole heartedly and they are working together to pull this off so that they can both get to Ecuador in 2019. This is a short and sweet blog but just goes to show that determination and organisation really can help you kick start your fundraising.
When we first heard about the Ecuador Expedition we were really excited at the prospect of being able to help with conservation work and be part of the opportunity of a lifetime.
As there was the two of us we were a little worried about being able to raise all the money especially as our mum is a single parent.
We started small by doing cake sales at our mum’s work place and at school which raised nearly £100.
We then decided to sort out old clothes and toys and we did a car boot sale. We raised £90.
Since then we have had a couple more cake and sweet sales, sold alot of furniture on market place and mum also held a ladies night with bingo, games, karaoke and a raffle which raised £127 on its own. In total we have raised just over £2300. We are on track to raise the £8000 we need between us.
Seeing all the expedition photos and information of those people taking part this year is spurring us on and getting us even more excited about our expedition.
We are planning to do odd jobs for the neighbourhood over the summer and we have a stall at another fundraisers children’s fair. We are also holding a Summer Fête in early September and have plans to hold an Halloween Party.
