When I first heard about the expedition I was nervous and excited. I wasn’t sure I would be able to raise that kind of money but with the support of my family we agreed I’d get there!

Within a week of hearing about the expedition I had paid my deposit and committed to the trip. I held two cake sales in our local town leading up to Christmas raising a huge £750. Then after Christmas my family and I started planning the virtual horse race night. My parents had been to one last year and everybody had had a good night of fun. Once the company was booked it all ran very smoothly. 20190315_20254520190315_181217The venue was very kindly provided free of charge at our local golf club which was a big help. We decided as a family, larger events would be better for us rather than lots of little ones. The virtual horse race night raised me a massive £2627.50 profit. I had a raffle and sealed bid prizes on the night too. fb_img_1552718153721All my family and friends have been so generous. I still can’t believe within 6 months I have raised just over £4000 in total. Overwhelming!!!!

I have also been saving half my pocket money every month, doing car washing, helping my grandad in the garden etc.

Next my auntie and I are holding a garden party at their house in June, selling tickets to her friend’s, with paella, a musician etc. I will also hold a raffle.
