A new direction for Camps International

A new direction for Camps International

We have an important announcement to make about our gap year programmes.  Over the past 17 years we have hosted several thousand Gap Year and independent travellers in our camps throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America. All of whom have helped to make a very real, significant and lasting impact on the local communities, wildlife and environment in those regions. As Camps continues to grow across the world, we are seeing rapidly increasing growth in our school expeditions and are...

Henry and his mum have made a great team fundraising!!

Henry and his mum have worked hard together to ensure that his fundraising has got off to a great start.      A quick blog about our fundraising so far which has been a case of ''So far so good.'' We have managed to pay £1550 off of our journey so far.  Henry has cleared snow off neighbours pathways on the first part of his journey.  Then he had a sweet sale at school and made £75 clear profit. Ellie’s Latin America Experience

Ellie’s Latin America Experience

The deadline for the gap trip scholarship applications is coming up at the end of August. Check out Ellie’s inspiring story of her time in Latin America – all made possible through our scholarship scheme. I went on a school expedition to Kenya for 4 weeks back in 2017 and really enjoyed my time working to improve communities. I had decided to take a gap year between finishing my A-levels and starting Uni to have a break and travel, so...

£3900 from one event – Matthew is very organised for his 2020 expedition!

When I heard about the trip I was excited about the opportunity to help other people by making the locales feel happy; from us building things that are needed within the local community and other day to day things that will benefit them in the future.  I wanted to experience different cultures and how they live and I wanted to get a feel of how different it is to what I am used to.  I am also going out to...

Can you play the piano? Hebe raised £1500 from her Pianothon!

When we had our first assembly at school about the Borneo 2020 expedition, my first initial feeling was excitement! I have never had the opportunity to do something like this, and coming from a big family, my siblings haven't either. It took some guts to make a final decision. I was slightly nervous and it took a few weeks to decide if I really wanted to invest the time into doing this. However I have had so much support from...

It can be a stressful and emotional time and there can be a lot of pressure on you to decide what to do next. To make sure you don’t...

Amy started in Feb and £400 raised by end of March

Amy sent us her story in March, so we are sure she hasfundraised even more now, but her story shows how in approximately 6 weeks you can raise £400 When I first heard about the expedition I felt excited, yet nervous as its a long way away and we are there for a long time. However, it sounds like an amazing trip, and a once in a life-time chance. I was really excited as my best friend wanted to go...

Over £2600 in one event, over £4000 in total – George is smashing it!

When I first heard about the expedition I was nervous and excited. I wasn't sure I would be able to raise that kind of money but with the support of my family we agreed I'd get there! Within a week of hearing about the expedition I had paid my deposit and committed to the trip. I held two cake sales in our local town leading up to Christmas raising a huge £750. Then after Christmas my family and I started...
