Steph Scholes - UK School Teams Manager
Jonny Lloyd - Assistant School Teams Manager
Jonny Lloyd here. Sheffield based regional expeditions coordinator for the past 4 years, climber and general outdoor and travel enthusiast. Having lead almost a dozen trips for Camps International over the years, I am fortunate enough to have travelled all over the world from Borneo; Cambodia, to Ecuador as well as spending a deal of time in East Africa. Impossible to choose a favourite, but happy to help teachers, parents and students find their own favourite!
Jess Brough - Training & Development Manager
I look after our schools in the South East of England. I was introduced to Camps during my student days as I travelled to Kenya on one of our expeditions. It’s fair to say that I have been bitten by the travel bug and haven’t looked back! I am always on hand to support students on their journey towards expedition. Whether it be giving top tips about kit or sharing fundraising success stories; I have been there, done that and am very proud to wear the t-shirt!
Kayleigh Clover - Senior Sales & Marketing Coordinator
I’m lucky enough to have worked all over the UK shouting from the rooftops about all of the brilliant things Camps do and letting students know how they can get involved. More recently since the arrival of my mini-me daughter I have taken on more of a support role in our head office in Ringwood. I am passionate about responsible travel and making the world a better place for future generations.
Dean Bates - Senior Expedition Coordinator
My day to day role with Camps International is as a Senior Expedition coordinator. So, I present these incredible opportunities to students in school assemblies and try to inspire them to embark on one of our amazing expeditions! I’m also an Expedition leader, so I get to immerse in the whole travel experience as well.
In my role as a leader, I love to see the personal development, and increased self-confidence of the students that choose to travel with us. I also see the incredible impact they all have on the communities we work alongside, not only through their hard work on all of the in-country projects, but also in the way that they interact with the local people.
James West - Senior Expedition Coordinator
Otherwise known as Westy, I’m live in Scotland and support our schools up here!
I found camps in 2011 when I was looking for a way to help and make things better in the world. As a Mountain Leader, I’ll be found on the high peaks or deep in jungles with our most adventurous teams when I’m not in school assemblies and meeting our future volunteers in school.
Sarah Murtagh - Senior Expedition Coordinator
I have explored most of our destinations and am passionate about experiencing different cultures, supporting developing communities and conserving endangered wildlife – passions I share by inspiring teachers and young people to join us for their own adventures! Also as an Expedition Leader, I see first hand how students develop in so many ways throughout their expeditions.
Nicola Mansfield - Senior Expedition Coordinator
Since 2014 I have been lucky enough to travel to different Camps destinations and see first hand the amazing work our volunteers do. I have a passion for fundraising and spend my days supporting students who are fundraising their way to expedition. I believe any student who wishes to travel can fundraise their way to expedition.
Nerys Hamlett - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
Having been a secondary PE teacher for many years before joining the Camps family, my first experience of an expedition was taking a group of students to trek in the rainforests of Borneo.
This had such an impact on both the students and myself, that several expeditions later, I find myself now working alongside schools in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire to offer these incredible opportunities to their students!
I mix a mean batch of cement and can work wonders with a paintbrush! Also pretty nifty with a sledgehammer too!
Johnny Drennan - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
I lead scuba diving expeditions in Africa, Asia, South & Central America. I am also fortunate enough to support schools across Hampshire & Dorset on their journey with us. Super proud to be part of the #CampsFamily

As an expedition leader, I get to experience the positive impact our projects have worldwide.
Henry Traynor - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
I have been a nature photographer for many years and have travelled extensively to pursue my passion for wildlife and environmental conservation. Having spent a deal of time travelling in South East Asia, I was able to see the direct benefit that dedicated project work has for rural communities and wildlife and would be excited to talk schools in Shropshire and surrounding areas through the expedition launch process.
Amy McEvoy - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
I have been involved with Camps since 2010 and have had some amazing opportunities to guide students and teachers through Africa, Asia and South America. I now support our schools and students across Devon and Cornwall as an Expedition Coordinator. Jamie Copping - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
Having gone on expedition to East Africa as a student I know just how valuable these experiences are for young adults. Anna Gibson - Regional Expeditions Coordinator
I look after our schools in East Anglia and am as passionate about the personal development of our volunteering students and teachers as I am about the incredible projects that we undertake every year. I have been fortunate enough to spend the last 20 years of my life travelling the globe and hope to spend the next 20 doing the same – planting trees, clearing beaches and mastering the art of making the perfect mud-brick!

I work in the office supporting both our UK and UAE operations and am involved in preparing our students and Expedition Leaders for their expeditions. So far, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit our camps in Tanzania, Kenya & Borneo and am always blown away by the incredible impact our projects have on the local communities. I can’t wait for the next adventure!
Abi Betteridge - Customer & Logistics Manager
I, along with my team make sure all of our students, teachers and parents are ready for their expeditions and support their fundraising efforts. I also book all of our volunteers flights, making sure they get to where they need to be and also make sure they get home again! Last year I travelled to Cambodia and fell in love with the country and the communities we support. Highlights from that trip for me were having a water blessing by Buddhist monks and visiting the amazing Angkor Wat temple.
Rachael May - Customer & Logistics Assistant Manager
As part of the team here in the office, I help ensure that all our students and teachers, as well as all parents, are ready and prepared for their upcoming expedition! Having also lead many expeditions and visited most of our Camps and locations, I have seen first-hand the positive effect Camps has, not only on the communities that we work with, but also the changes within the students who travel and experience what Camps has to offer.
Gemma Hobbs - Operational Support
I work as part of the Operations Team and my job is to work with our teams to support them through one of the most unforgettable experiences of their lives! I love that the expeditions Camps International provide allow people to properly experience a new place and culture; living with the locals and sleeping it in a tent is much more fun than lazing in a 5* hotel…where’s the adventure in that?!
Lia Preston - Operational Support
I was fortunate to start my Camps journey in 2011 when I went on a 4 week expedition to Kenya with my school! The expedition had such an impact on me, that I couldn’t resist coming to HQ and helping to support all students and teachers with their preparation and journey for one of the most amazing months of their lives. I’ve also been lucky enough to visit and experience other continents since starting here in January 2017 including both Borneo and Ecuador.
Adela Halls - Operational Support
I am one of the newest members to join the Operations Team and I am here to offer support to teachers, parents and travellers to make sure they’re ready for their expedition! Before starting at Camps, I spent six months travelling South East Asia where I saw and experienced some amazing things! In October this year I was also lucky enough to go on a Camps trip to Tanzania to see the life-changing project work that our volunteers have carried out. I am keen to share my knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for travel with those who are about to embark on their once in a life time trip!
Julie Lax - School Support Coordinator
I am here to help support teachers and parents alike with her incredible passion and wicked sense of humour! I began my love affair with CI as a teacher who travelled with us to Kenya. I supported my daughter to fundraise 100% of the money needed to travel on expedition with us too… and more recently shaved my head in order to raise money for the Camps foundation!
Lorna Honey - School Expedition Support
Based in our Ringwood HQ, I am always ready to have a giggle, and offer some friendly advice and support to every teacher I speak to. I also enjoy meeting movie stars and cosplay at its best!
Sarah Lloyd - School Expedition Support
I work on the school expeditions team and have two grown up kids of my own. I’ve travelled to Thailand and managed to cuddle a 10 day old elephant! I love walking by the coast but my favourite city is definitely Marrakesh.
Sue Davey - School Expedition Support
Working the same hours as schools across the UK, I am dedicated to offering schools the highest possible standard of support from start to finish.
