I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve definitely got that Friday feeling! It’s been a mad week, and the office has been filled with a cacophony of sneezes and coughs (Harry takes the cake for weirdest sneeze so far, he sounds like a chicken, not even making it up!). Everyone in the office seems to be ill, and luckily I am sandwiched between the two people who seem to be suffering the most, so it’s only a matter of time! :/

My desk is covered in a smattering of hastily scrawled notes and pens, and every possible surface is covered in bright orange post its… And there’s also a llama keyring from Peru hanging around (thanks Sharon!!!)

So, it’s probably a good thing I didn’t have to track down a Fundraising Friday Star this week, or else the poor person would’ve been lost under a mountain of post its!

I met this week’s star at his school a few weeks ago, and once I heard what he’d been up to I was keen to hear from him! He was just as keen, and sent me over everything he’s done so far and what’s he’s got planned for the next couple months. So, this week’s star is Andrew! Have a read, because he’s got plenty of great ideas!

I’m going to Kenya in 2015, and I’m very excited for the 4 week expedition full of new adventures. Although it sounds like a lot of money, I’m doing really well and have raised just over £2000 so far! I’m still very busy planning future fundraising activities though :)

I raised the £2000 by doing a car boot sale with grandma, and a 6 mile walk in a giraffe onesie! (I got many strange looks!!)

I am really lucky to live in a pub, because I can run many activities inside it, and I’ve even put a donation pot with an explanation about what I‰’m doing in Kenya on the bar! From this, I have raised £47 since September and I haven‰’t done a thing for it!

My grandma‰’s friend also took a sponsor sheet to his work, and managed to get £150 from his work mates.

I have also been making necklaces and selling them on eBay, I make about £2 on each necklace so it mean’s I get a little every so often!

I even found myself a gardening job! It gets very cold in the evenings after school though, so I wrap up warm in my ski coat, gloves, hat and scarf! I would much rather be gardening outside in the cold if it means I can raise money to help the less fortunate out in Kenya.

I’m also planning to do a sponsored leg wax on the 31st of December 2014, and at the moment it looks like I should get about £400 from it.

I am also currently making a Christmas hamper to auction off. I have some other prizes like a free photo shoot worth £80 that a generous business gave me, and I have also got a £10 gift voucher from a local shop and a cake decoration voucher for a local cake making class. So that should turn into a fun Christmas event!

I love it when you guys are so determined to fundraise!!! Take a leaf out of Andrew’s book, and get started on your Christmas fundraising now!!! If you can’t think of any ideas, just give us a call in the office and we can chat through some options! There’s lots of things that you could be planning right now!

As ever, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me your fundraising stories!!! I really love hearing what you are up to, even if you are just working and raising money with your salary! What I look for when picking a Fundraising Friday Star is what you felt when you first heard about the expedition, a few paragraphs about what you have been up to so far for your fundraising, any future fundraising plans and some pictures of your fundraising! LOTS of pictures! (pleeeeeease) But the pictures do need to be of a high quality that can be uploaded online‰! no fuzzy mugshots! 😉

Email all entries to sophie.cohen@campsinternational.co.uk, I can‰’t wait to hear from you all! 😀 Remember, every Fundraising Friday Star will win a FREE HEAD TORCH!
