Are you looking for a family trip in 2017 that with a difference and that will make a massive impact on your family along with changing lives for people in Kenya?
Did you know at Camps International that we run dedicated family trips to explore and undertake project work in Kenya?
These 2 week trips are specially designed for families with children aged 5 years old and over who are looking for an alternative, exciting trip. It’s the perfect chance to explore this amazing country and make a real difference to the lives of the people and children living in these rural communities.
You’ll be staying in the centre of the Rukinga Sanctuary, a private and exclusive wildlife conservation area, bordering the world-renowned Tsavo National Park. You’ll get the opportunity to be taught by the local guides how to identify and track wildlife along with some basic bush skills before you embark on your own safari adventure to see some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. You may even see all of the ‘Big 5’.
As a family you’ll be involved in projects which could include expanding the watering holes to care for the wildlife during the dryer seasons, planting trees to combat deforestation, installing elephant deterrent fences to prevent the elephants wandering onto farmlands and causing damage and making paper from elephant poo.
You’ll also get to meet the amazing children at the Sasenyi Primary School – a school very close to our heart. Your work with the school could include supporting building classrooms and helping with our feeding programme to ensure every child gets a hot meal every day.
All the time you are in Kenya you’ll be living alongside the community you are supporting and you will get the chance to meet and work with the truly inspirational Mama Mercy. Learn about her impressive journey to leading a group of women to run a number of successful and profitable micro-finance initiatives such as harvesting and making beaded jewellery which they sell to make a profit.
From the moment your family arrives in Kenya you’ll be fully supported by our in country staff. All your accommodation, food, drinking water, activities and in-country transfers are included within the trip price. It also includes your support towards the vital project work we are undertaking and 24-hour emergency support for your entire family. You’ll simply need to add flights, travel insurance, visas and vaccinations and we can help you with all this too.
Our teams will be on hand before you travel and for every moment of your trip to support you, help you to get the most from your experience and ensure you leave Kenya with amazing memories and an experience you’ll never forget.
The next family trips depart on 16th April 2017 and 8th July 2017 priced at £985 per adult and £595 for children aged 5-12 years.
