A good travel playlist should feature on every traveller’s packing list.

You’ll want some epic tunes to accompany you as you travel across the amazing routes between camps. And some upbeat songs are always welcome when you’re volunteering on project sites to keep you pumped as you get stuck into digging, plastering or painting with your teammates.

So we asked some of our Camps crew to handpick their best travel tunes for our Camps Travel Playlist – the perfect soundtrack to any adventure.

Here’s some of our top picks. What do you think?

Owl City – The Verge

“This song always reminds me of European travels through Spain and Greece and was my soundtrack when leading in Tanzania!” – Amy, Expedition Coordinator

I Love You- Axwell Ingrosso & Kid Ink

“Takes me back to chilling in Camp Tsavo with a cup of tea watching the sunset. <3” – Laura, Expedition Coordinator

8 Circle – Bon Iver

“I was listening to it on repeat in Vietnam, it just works whilst travelling from one place to another and taking in the sights, particularly during an evening in Hoi An.” – Ollie, Accounts Team

Africa – Toto

“In Kenya last October they played it as we were driving through Tsavo and as we drove, children seemed to appear from nowhere, smiling and waving! The soundtrack sends me back on that bus every single time I hear it – and always makes me smile at the memory 😃” Anna, Regional Expedition Coordinator

Stay Alive – Jose Gonzalez

“This is my go-to song for any journey – it’s got such a good rhythm that makes you want to get up and go explore and make the most of every minute.” – Kim, Marketing Team

Dakota – Stereophonics

“Reminds me of my holiday to the States. Driving long straight roads in the Mohave and painted desert (worrying when the next petrol station would appear). No one around for miles. Beautiful.”

– Abi, School Expeditions Manager

Road Trippin’ – Red Hot Chilli Peppers

“This song reminds me of long drives to Camp Tsavo in the play bus at Camp Kenya!” – Callum, Independent Volunteering Team

Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

“My team from Borneo in 2011 wrote some new words to this and I can’t listen to it without thinking of them.” – Sharon, Expeditions Manager

Journey of the Magi – Frank Turner

“This is a great song about traveling (I liked it so much I have a tattoo of it!)” – Amy, Expedition Coordinator

Let The Sun Shine – Labrynth

“This some came on (more than once) as the Mrs and I were cruising down Highway 101 on route from San Francisco to LA. Very chilled and very summery. Good times indeed!” – Jamie, Expedition Coordinator

Ecuador – Sash

“A must for anyone travelling here!” – Lorna, School Support Team

Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

“I performed this rap during a talent contest at Camp Tsavo – got a pretty good round of applause too” – Emma, Expeditions Team

Red Solo Cup – Toby Keith

“This one reminds me of road tripping in the Australian outback with my mate and our red solo cups.” – Laura, Marketing Team

Jurassic Park Theme.

“This song goes through my head during every safari” – James, Expedition Coordinator

Taper Jean Girl –  Kings of Leon

“This song (and the whole album) was my travel soundtrack when I was backpacking round South East Asia. It always takes me back to scenic road trips on a rickety old bus in Laos. Amazing memories and when the travel bug was ignited!“ – Hannah, Product Manager
