We have an important announcement to make about our gap year programmes.
Over the past 17 years we have hosted several thousand Gap Year and independent travellers in our camps throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America. All of whom have helped to make a very real, significant and lasting impact on the local communities, wildlife and environment in those regions.
As Camps continues to grow across the world, we are seeing rapidly increasing growth in our school expeditions and are set to host record numbers of travelling groups in our camps throughout 2020. Unfortunately, this reduces our capacity to host Gap Year volunteers at the same time whilst offering everyone the same exceptional, authentic experience in which we pride ourselves.
Therefore, and with much deliberation, we have taken the decision to discontinue our Gap Year programmes from next year onwards. This has not been a decision we’ve taken lightly, mostly because we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved with the help of our Gap Year volunteers over the years.
All of our camps and project sites will remain open and will continue to host thousands of volunteers each year through our school expeditions, so rest assured our vital project work will continue to support every community and region in which we work.
July 2020 will mark our last Gap Year programme and we would love for as many travellers as possible to join us on the ground, in camps, before then.
This will be your last chance to travel with us as a Gap Year volunteer so if you want to experience one of our unique and life-changing trips for yourself, now’s the time to do it!
