Camp Nicaragua Environment 2 Weeks

Explore one of Central America’s gems on this 2-week programme in Nicaragua. Based at Camp Lost Canyon, in an incredible dry forest region of Nicaragua, you will immerse yourself in the traditions and culture of the local communities and make a measurable difference to improving their quality of life through our projects.

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western hemisphere so the projects you get involved with here will make a huge impact. We listen to the needs of each community so you’ll be working on areas that are a priority for them. There’ll be plenty of time interacting with the local school children and community members and the people you meet will stay with you long after you leave Central America.

Secure your place before the end of April to take advantage of our special introductory rates.

The impact you will make

Reforestation (Lost Canyon)

The dry forest area around Camp Lost Canyon is home to a variety of endangered tree species. We will help to protect these native plants by getting involved in reforestation efforts within the local community, planting seedlings and ensuring the threatened plants continue to thrive in the area. Additionally, we do some social projects within the small forgotten community.

Activities May Include

  1. Seed collection & harvesting
  2. Tree planting
  3. General maintenance
  4. Occasional construction when needed
